| The Sudan is Africa's largest country, bordered on the north by Egypt, on the east by Ethiopia and the Red Sea, on the south by Uganda, Kenya and Zaire and on the west by Chad, the Central African Republic and Libya.
It forms 8% of the entire African continent, and is roughly the size of Europe.
